Serge MENDJINSKY

Serge MENDJINSKY was a French painter known for his brightly colored depictions of Paris.

Influenced by Vincent van Gogh and Georges Seurat, Mendjisky employed broken brushstrokes and complementary colors to create the vibratory effect of shimmering light.

Born on May 24, 1929, in Paris, France, his father was the Polish painter Maurice Mendjisky.

He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and started exhibiting his work from an early age. The artist died on May 7, 2017, in Paris, France.
