Guy VANDENBRANDEN (1926-2004)

Guy VAN DEN BRANDEN (Belgian, 1926–2014) was a Belgian visual artist, considered to be part of the second-generation of Belgian Constructivists, who achieved complete geometric abstraction, following in the footsteps of Piet Mondrian (De Stijl) and Victor Vasarély (Op Art).

In the 1950s and 1960s, van den Branden was a member of the Belgian Art Abstrait and Art Construit groups, and co-founder of Formes and De Nieuwe Vlaamse School, movements propagating geometric abstract art with a theoretical basis.
